What a difference a browser can make!By Shawn M. J. Mann This is an important topic, and I have never seen it discussed in the genealogy community. Which browser are you using to do your research? I don't know about you, but I usually have 20 to 40+ browser windows open at a time, when researching. I like to open "interesting" links in a new window, so I can finish reading the page I am on later. This would be near impossible to keep track of, if I didn't use a multi-tab browser. With a tabbed browser, you can open multiple Web pages in a single browser window, and quickly flip back and forth. Drag and drop open tabs to keep related pages together. Internet Explorer recently came out with a tabbed browser version, but honestly, I don't like it very much. They are trying to reinvent the wheel, and are far behind the game. There are several free tabbed browsers available, which have been around for several years, but I am constantly finding people that have never heard of them, and are still using IE or their default AOL browser. Believe me... once you try one, you will be hooked! Firefox is one of the best ones out there...and the best part is, it is free! It also has a ton of optional plug-ins you can install, to enhance your experience. Its easy to install and import your favorites.
